A native of Japan, pianist Shiori Kiriake has performed widely in the United States and Japan, including appearances at Suntory Hall with members of the Berlin Philharmonic, and as concerto soloist with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
She has received numerous prizes as a pianist, including first prize at the Boston International Piano Competition. Based in Northern California, she continues her studies with pianist and esteemed pedagogue John McCarthy, Director Emeritus at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She has also performed in masterclasses for John Owings and Tamás Ungár.
Alongside her life in music, Ms. Kiriake has built a parallel career in communications. A graduate of Kyoto University with a degree in Education, she has worked in public relations for more than 18 years and currently serves as PR Lead for a blockchain startup and a consumer goods company. Drawing on that experience, she is passionate about shaping how music reaches people, producing her own concerts and sharing her performances through digital platforms to connect with new audiences.
Yet at the piano, she still feels the same sense of wonder and delight that first drew her to the instrument as a child.
